Let’s talk about fridge wardrobe in details useful source. What is what in your fridge fashion?
Today we start with fridge «tops» AKA vegetables, fruits and berries. Even if you are not much into fashion you probably know that tops are the most variable part of wardrobe. You choose from basic t-shirts, blazers, knitted wear, shirts, blouses, coats, jackets and many more. I bet you have 3-4 time more various tops in your wardrobe than any other component. Whenever you go shopping tops welcoming you next to the entrance of a department store. In the world of fashion tops play a crucial role for your look being able to put right accents, to underline body strength and to hide weaknesses, and to highlight a beauty of one’s face. The easiest way yo style your look is to mix and match several tops. Layers are always in style. That is why I think vegetables, fruits and berries would be your nutrition «tops». This group of foods is the healthiest source of starch, vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, and moisture essential for your beauty, health, and well-being.
Dark leafy greens, for example, may be compared to basic t-shirts due to its indispensability and omnitude. Again, like basic t-shirts green leafy vegetables can easily become the base of your grocery basket.
Moving to a colourful vegetables group it reminds me about shirts and blouses in wardrobe. Choose the ones you like depending on a season and situation.
Fruits like blazers will balance your fridge outfit while berries & mushrooms are perfect for extra accents in your daily menu like light cardigans in your daily look.
Finally, starchy and root vegetables can be easily compared to outwear giving you extra calories i.e heat & energy for cold days.
According to the latest research it is recommended to eat at least 5 portions of vegetables and at least 2 portions of fruits/berries every single day. Some specialists advise to increase vegetable consumption to 7-8 portions per day. It is always hard to understand what do dieticians mean by portion. Well, check the table below to have a general idea of how much «tops» you should eat daily.
Are you open for experiments? Great! Experiment with your tops in both, wardrobe and fridge, to style your life from outside and from within! Vegetables are an absolute must-have of any season so don’t ever skip it.
